Quadlink 5c brought the fabled Cardas house sound to more affordable pricing. I wrote a detailed review of the interconnect at Audio Asylum. I became a lifelong fan, and I've owned full suites every interconnect, speaker cable and power cable from Quadlink through Golden Reference. (I know there wasn't a Golden Presence or Neutral Reference power cord, but you know what I mean...) This power cable is surprisingly neutral with large, open soundstaging and sumptuous bass. I am also a fan of using Cardas power cables with AudioQuest interconnect and speaker cables to impart a more organic feel to the proceedings.
A "problem" with the better power cables as you move up the Cardas line is that, while they tend to have blacker backgrounds and offer greater detail and saturation of tone through more wire, more complex geometry and better shielding, they also tend to get incrementally darker with an incrementally smaller soundstage. There was always a tradeoff. In my opinion, Cardas did not fully overcome this to marry the strengths of their cheaper and pricier cables until the advent of the XL.
In short, you get a heaping helping of Cardas goodness with Quadlink, and there are some things Quadlink does well that are hard to find in the pricier offerings. If you're shopping in this price tier, it's hard to do better, and the differences are academic anyway.
