This is a tape deck that can record and play back the X series 4 track No. 10 reel back and forth.

It is a reciprocating recording and playback machine of Reel 10, so it can record 3 hours at 19cm/s and 6 hours at 9.5 cm speed.

A dual capstan system is adopted for the mechanism part.
This system has a structure in which two sets of capstan and pinch rollers sandwich the tape and drive it, thereby greatly reducing modulation noise. In addition, since tape tension is given by the slight rotational difference between capstan and capstan, even minute tape vibrations (flutter components) that do not appear in the catalog data are shielded.
In addition, due to the symmetrical design, even in reverse operation, the same conditions as in forward operation are obtained, and uniform tape travel is achieved in both directions.

A magne-float type flywheel is adopted.
It is designed so that there is no play in the axial direction of the capstan by pressing it against the bearing using the repulsion of the magnet, thereby realizing stable rotation of the flywheel.

The head section is composed of 6 heads, and each head for erasing, recording and playback is independent of each other.
A high-hardness Permalloy head is used for the head, and an erasing head, which does not affect the sound quality, is placed outside the closed loop to shorten the tape span.

The amplifier circuit is designed with dedicated adjustment circuits for both the recording and reproducing heads to reduce the difference in sound quality between forward and reverse.
